Blind Spots

Blind Spots

Most of us are aware that if something is between you & the object you are looking for, it creates a vision blockout or blindspot.  There are many vision blockers around our towns and highways; A and B Pillars in our cars, other vehicles in turning lanes, trees and fences, traffic signs, pedestrians, passengers in the car and poor visability intersections.

There is also a blind spot in both of our eyes that most people dont know about and the vision blocker it can create.

How to we get around this problem?  We have to drive and we dont always have perfect conditions.  Quite often we are distracted when we drive and often approach intersections faster than is needed and wonder why we didn’t have time to respond when we don’t see things early enough.

What if we were more vigilant with our scanning & start looking earlier?

Eg. As soon as there is some vision available on the approach to the intersection?

How much harder would it be to conceal other vehicles?  What if we didn’t  go until we could see?

I regularly see drivers put themselves & their passengers at risk to save a few seconds. This seems like false economy to me! I’m glad they don’t handle my finances.

Just something to think about.

Cheers, SEE you on the road.  Back to Home Page
